Is your main sink always full when you need to rinse vegetables or fill a pot? A prep sink takes that pressure off, and the Franke Cube CUX11015 is sized to slip into an island, a beverage station or the end of a run of cabinets without taking over the counter.

At 16.5" wide outside, it fits a 21" base cabinet, yet the bowl is a full 9" deep, so a stockpot or a colander of greens sits low enough to keep splashes off the counter. The squared-off Cube shape gives you more flat floor than a rounded bar sink of the same width, which matters when you are washing a cutting board or draining pasta.

Like the rest of the Cube range it is 18 gauge stainless with Franke's brushed Pearl finish and sound pads underneath, so it looks and sounds like it belongs with a premium main sink rather than an afterthought.

Where does a prep sink work best?

Most people put it in an island facing the main sink, near the fridge, or at a bar or coffee station. Anywhere a second person can rinse and chop without queuing for the main sink.

Is there a grid made for it?

Yes. The Franke CU15-36S stainless bottom grid is cut to fit this bowl and keeps pans off the floor of the sink.

Can I install it with a laminate countertop?

No. Undermount sinks need a solid countertop, such as granite, quartz, marble or solid surface, because the sink hangs from the underside of the counter and the cut edge stays exposed. Your fabricator cuts the opening using the template on the spec sheet.
